The Seven Rhythms

Together, these rhythms help us receive life as gift, make room for wonder, widen the table, return to the present moment, gather the good, open our hands, and take the next faithful step.

They are not ideals to admire or boxes to check. They are rhythms we practice — and we practice them together.

Spirited · Creative · Connected · Present · Grateful · Generous · Missional

Spirited

Receive life as gift.

We are alive by gift, not by striving. Before we produce anything or prove anything, breath is already given. Spirited is the rhythm of remembering that first.

Creative

Make room for wonder.

Expressing, making, imagining. Creativity is not a talent a few people are issued — it is what happens when we stop rushing past the world long enough to see what might be inside it.

Connected

Widen the table.

Relationships and belonging. We are made for each other, and the measure of a life is often just how many people have a seat at it.

Present

Return to the present moment.

Awareness and attention. Most of what we miss, we miss because we were somewhere else. Present is the rhythm of coming back.

Grateful

Gather the good.

Noticing what is good. Gratitude is not pretending everything is fine. It is the discipline of refusing to let the good go unnoticed.

Generous

Open our hands.

Giving freely. Generosity begins the moment we decide we have enough — and it turns out that decision is available far earlier than we think.

Missional

Take the next faithful step.

Living with purpose and direction. Not a grand plan for the whole road — just the next step, taken on purpose, in the direction of love.

Practice them together

The rhythms were made for conversation. Eight guided sessions walk a group through all seven, beginning with an introduction: We Are Thrivers.
